Crafting a solid mix comes down to making quick and intuitive tweaks that create an engaging sound. For me, trusting my instincts on what fits the vibe of the track is crucial. Plus, getting the mix just right means having in mind how the music will sound on different playback systems.
Naturally, I rely on top-notch modern analogue and digital gear from trusted brands. But believe me: fancy equipment isn’t everything. That’s something I’ve really come to understand after being in the mix engineering game for so many years. It’s just a tool to help articulate my sonic vision and cultivate my sonic personality.
That said, having a smooth workflow, a well-tuned audio setup, and especially awesome room acoustics is super important. In my Cologne studio, with amazing acoustic treatment designed by top-class studio designer Fritz Fey, I’ve set up a great space to make sure your track gets the premium sound quality it deserves.
